Thrive Marriage Conference

I tried to keep most people out of serving during the Thrive Marriage Conference. One reason is to allow couples to be together and not separated by having one serve in tech. Another is to keep singles from attending the event for obvious reasons. A third is it allows me and my wife to serve together. We began serving together in the sound room, AWANA, VBS and college ministries. Now I’m mostly serving in tech and every now and then she gets to come along and help. Here are some pictures of technology at the event (and a few others too).

New Projector Bulb

A couple weeks ago the projector in the Coffee Cove started turning on and off and a light on the unit came on that said bulb. It seems on some older versions of the bulb the wires feeding the power get brittle and fall off. This is what happened to ours. I think the heat of the bulb is deteriorating the wire and shielding. New bulbs now come with a protective cover shielding the wiring. I ordered two, one for replacement and the other for back up since we have 3 of the same projector, the Dell 2400MP, in the Coffee Cove, Shine worship area, and a mobile unit currently in the Fellowship Hall.

Mediagate is Back!

The device that runs the announcements on the flat screen in the foyer stopped working a few weeks ago and I sent it in for repair. We’ve been using my wife’s laptop as a temporary replacement along with a free app called Boxee. Well the Mediagate is back and I’ll be getting it back up and running sometime this week. Hopefully it stays up and running until I can get a Mac Mini into the budget someday to replace it.

Thank You Tanner

I’d just like to give a shout out to Tanner Archer for helping in the Soundroom running lyrics, videos, pastor’s points, PowerPoints, and lights. He also creates a lot of the announcement screens. Thanks Tanner!
